Azure Kinect cameras

What it is

The Azure Kinect DK is a depth camera from Microsoft that measures distance with infrared light and can track bodies as skeletons. Microsoft no longer sells it (learn.microsoft.com).

For us: We own about 12, kept in Studio 4. The old Kinect set and the Azure Kinects are one set. SpaceMusic uses them to see where people are and how they move in the room (placement input). They replaced the older RealSense cameras. Several units can be synchronised with a 3.5 mm audio cable, and in vvvv they run through the VL.Devices.AzureKinect package. The Orbbec Femto Bolt and Mega are nearly identical replacements.
