Synology NAS
Local 10 Gbit mirror of Dropbox (Synology DS1821+), in the server room.
What it is
A NAS (network attached storage) is a small file server on the local network. Synology builds these devices (synology.com). Ours is a DS1821+.
For us: The Synology NAS is the studio’s local file server: a 10 Gbit mirror of Dropbox Business (JHH SERVER), synced 1:1, so it holds the same files. It sits in the small server room in Studio 3, next to the Zyxel router (Zyxel AX7501-B1 router) and the JHH Server M1 (still in use).
